Greed for Money Essay

Today, greed for money, together with greed for power, is one of the chief causes of human misery. No wonder our Lord put as his first beatitudes;† Blessed are the poor in spirit. † Poverty in spirit is the opposite of greed for money, for it means detachment from material things coupled with trust in God as the only Savior. People cheat other people for money. They betray friends for money. Members of the same family – sometimes parents and children quarrel and sue each other in court over money. Jesus was very well aware that money would rival God in the eyes of many people. That is why he warned â€Å"No man can serve two masters, you cannot serve God and money†. He himself was the victim of greed. In the end, He was betrayed for thirty pieces of silver by Judas. It takes real grace to see the seduction of money and the emptiness of its promises. Aspiring politicians have heard of the sad end of Ferdinand Marcos, and other dictators whose billions benefit only the Swiss banks but not those who robbed their own people. And yet given the opportunity, how many will resist the temptation to take advantage of one’s public trust? In the song Hello Dolly, it says â€Å"Money my dear is like manure. It is good for nothing unless it is spread around to make your things grow. † Many of us are rather more fascinated by the manure and love to store it, more than to share it.

Personal life Essay

My dad and I have a warmer relationship than my mom and I. The relationship between my dad and I, is different than the relationship with my mom because ever since birth id always be with my dad. Having mostly done everything with my dad it got our relationship so close; I did not want to do many things with my mom. My dad would act like such a kid; it would make me feel as if he was my best friend. I feel closer to my dad, rather than my mom is because of our time spent together over the years. Also the valuable time spent getting to know each other thoroughly. There are lots of differences between the relationship I have with my dad versus my mom. I spend more time with my dad comparatively than my mom which makes a big difference to my relationship with each of them. Eating things my dad would eat, to being influenced to a big time hockey fan. My mom could not be as open and have a kid mind while playing with me. Being active for my dad is a big deal, therefore me and him always try to be as active as we can. For example we always play hockey in the backyard. On the other hand my mom is not too keen of being active herself. My relationship with my dad and mom, have several things in common. First, both are always trying their best for me. For example, they both work hard, so they can provide me with good food, shelter, and clothing. A second way in which they are similar is that they both make the utmost choices for me, even though I may think they are wrong or don’t like them.

Balancing Family & Work Life Essay Example for Free

Balancing Family & Work Life Essay A. Thesis Statement Attending school as an adult, and maintaining a source of employment can be a daunting task, as many adults who had to delay their college education must know. One of the most challenging aspects of adult life consists of learning how to adjust accordingly to the rigors of life at home as well as the workplace. Failure to do so can lead to a life of complete disarray, stress, illness and exhaustion. II. Body Paragraph #1 – Topic Sentence #1 Traditionally the typical age group for freshmen in college was between 18 to 19 years of age. That reality has slowly changed as more young adults are finding their way back in the classroom, while holding down a job. The information I found in P.14 of the ebrary book: Families and Work: New Directions in the Twenty-First Century, by Fredriksen-Goldsen, Karen I. states: â€Å"Of the more than 69 million American parents with children under the age of 18 (Famighetti, 1998), almost 90 percent are employed (U.S. Bureau of the Census, 1998).† At the same time, there are working professionals attempting to achieve a college education in order to refine their skills, or to gain new ones. Among those working adults, young couples typically tend to have a harder time with managing the broad aspects of life, especially those who are in the early stages of their relationship, which has the potential to result in a lot of growing pains. The information found in an article from the following website; http://pods.dasnr.okstate.edu/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-2421/T-2233web.pdf states: â€Å"Family and work settings have a built-in potential for conflict. Adults may get overwhelmed with the excessive demands that are required of them from either end of the spectrum, leaving them with the feeling of having very little time to accomplish those tasks.† Finding a balance between work and home involves finding ways of accomplishing the tasks at home as well as duties at work. Those responsibilities are often shared among couples in a healthy relationship. The equality of the shared house  chores, however, is up or debate. It has long been stated that the task of maintaining the home primarily fell on the woman’s shoulders, while the man focuses mainly on duties in the workplace. For some married couples, trying to get their husband to help with the housework typically led to domestic disputes. In recent years however, men have been getting more involved with parenting than ever before. A passage from (Giraffe 2011) states: â€Å"The recession of 2008 contributed to this arrangement because increased unemployment left more fathers available to care for their children and the reduced family income made outside childcare services unaffordable.† The traditional view of the American household should change because of an increase in the number of two-parent families entering the labor force. One of the primary services built around that change in society is the daycare system. Many of those two-parent families, as well as single parents may not have direct support from their families to take care of the children while they’re away at work. While some of the household work, such as childcare and housekeeping, has transitioned to outside providers, many working mothers cannot afford to employ these services (Giraffe, 2011). Unfortunately a big portion of their income goes to high daycare fees. III. Body Paragraph #2 – Topic Sentence #2 When the constants demands of life are far too much to bear, employees tend to feel the need to escape, and seek an alternate reality. We must look at the adverse effects that those long work hours have on the human body. Overworked individuals can suffer from work related illnesses as a result of excessive stress. Work related stress can result from extended hours due to mandatory overtime in some case. An employer’s rigid work hours which can prevent employees from tending to occasional issues at home can also be blamed for stress on the job. Employees suffering the effects of stress in the workplace tend to have bouts of absenteeism. Absenteeism in the workplace is a major issue, with tangible and intangible costs. Although the absentee loses wages in the process, the major loss is at the expense of the employer. The ebrary book by Lynn  Tylczak, (Attacking absenteeism 1990), describes the intangible costs of absenteeism as follows: â€Å"Absentee costs are difficult to quantify. Experts estimate direct wage loses of more than $30 billion per year, and that’s just the beginning. Employers also need to consider the costs of supplementary or replacement workers. These costs include: Regular wages, overtime wages, and company benefits Supplementary benefits, such as Social Security, worker’s compensation, and unemployment compensation Administration of recruitment, selection orientation, and training Penalty costs resulting from delays.† The author (Lynn T. 1990) also gives the following explanation from the tangible cost of absenteeism: â€Å"It forces managers to deal with problems of morale, discipline, job dissatisfaction, job stress, team spirit, productivity, turnover, production quality, additional administration and overhead.† Many employers have become more cognizant of the disastrous effects of having stressful employees in the workplace. This is not only calculated in monetary losses based on productivity, but also in the valuable asset (the employee) which could potentially offset those losses. IV. Body Paragraph #3 Topic sentence # 3 Those who value their time with their families certainly appreciate the value of being away from work. This is particularly why a lot of us look forward to our vacation time. It us the opportunity to recharge our batteries and gives us the courage to return to our regular lives. Many employers have adapted to the changes in society by implementing new ways for employees to earn vacation time from work. While some of us are comfortable being â€Å"working stiffs†, most people would rather look forward to their time away from work. An ebrary book by ANDERSON, NELS titled Work and Leisure states: â€Å"Although leisure reflects and supplements work, it is also used as a release from work. Some are of the view that unless a man has worked he cannot really enjoy leisure. They hold that while a man is working to earn a wage or salary, he also ‘earns’ leisure.† It is absolutely true that in order to fully enjoy our vacation time, we must work hard for it. That time of leisure can then be considered our reward for achieving the demands required of us in the workplace. Those who properly plan their vacation can benefit from sights  rarely seen in everyday life. Most people find it more beneficial to take their vacation in some exotic location. The topic on how to enjoy a proper vacation will vary from one employee to the next. V. Body Paragraph #4 Topic sentence # 4 Employers have devised lots of ways to keep valuable talent within their workforce, while allowing them time to accomplish their house work. Those arrangements can be profitable to the employer as well as the employee in some cases. Some of the sensible ways employers provide to employees are flextime, teleworking, and employee incentive just to name a few. Flextime is highly valuable to employees because it allows them to have more control over the balancing act of work and home life. It also provides them the option of choosing when to complete their work. Flextime allows employees to handle personal business such as doctor appointments or school functions without having to take sick leave or vacation time. Employers’ personnel needs are met and they get employees at their best. In highly skilled positions where competition for employees is fierce and employee turnover costly, flexible schedules can also reduce attrition by making employees more content with their jobs (Giraffe, 2011). Teleworking provides some lucky employees the opportunity to work remotely. With this system employees can either work from home or in some shared work spaces. In most cases employees would prefer to work from home because it is the ideal place to work from. This reduces the work commute, and the amount stress to the employee. It takes an especially disciplined employee to work from home, because of the constant distractions from home can cause the employee’s work performance to suffer. Employers must be careful when considering the type of employees they provide that opportunity to. Through teleworking, some employees do get to achieve balance between family and work life. Do the events management questions on the ppt Assignment

Do the events management questions on the ppt - Assignment Example Current Supply Chain Management tools are capable of helping event managers and organizations achieve and retain a competitive edge through empowering them to streamline and improve their most vital supply chain operations from the beginning to the end. With the tools of supply chain management installed, the event manager and the organization in question can maximize cost-efficiency; enhance productivity while giving the bottom line a massive boost. The functionality is crafted to automate totally and enhance chain process (De Waart, 2013, p. 22). The supply chain package aids the event manager in bettering the supervision and management of the supplies, raw materials and the components needed for the events in the organization. As such, any possible threats of excessive wastes are accounted for, in the process freeing up valuable real estate for other vital functions and cuts on associated storage charges. In its role in the management of orders, the supply chain management drastically accelerates the execution of the whole order-to-delivery cycle through enabling firms to be more productive. SCM allows the dynamic scheduling of supplier deliveries to more efficiently meet the demand and more quickly create the pricing and product configuration (De Waart, 2013, p. 24) Another critical aspect of SCM is the ability to forecast and plan events in the organization (De Waart, 2013, p. 25). With the tools of SCM in place, the event manager can more specifically anticipate client needs and plan the procurement and production activities more accurately. Consequently, the event manager can avoid unnecessary purchases of raw materials, reduce production over-runs, and curtail the need to store vast quantities of processed goods. Another feature of supply chain management is logistical capability. With the rapid expansion of the organization on the global scale, the supply chains of such firms gain much complexity (De Waart, 2013, p.

Critical Review about Postgraduate Research Methods Essay

Critical Review about Postgraduate Research Methods - Essay Example The author defined the glass ceiling as those artificial barriers based on attitudinal or organizational bias that prevent qualified individuals from advancing upward in their organization into management-level positions. Since the feminist movement gained power since the late sixties of the twentieth century the women began to think that they should gain the power and authority among the men community. As a result they from the very beginning women placed themselves to the other side of the discussion. Nowadays women are trying to prove their self-dependence, putting aside the case of that they had begun this confrontation. To show the relevance of the problem, the author shows some statistic data about salary inequities between women and men. She asks following questions: Why are women still paid substantially less than men are Why does the glass ceiling stay in place And why does much of the popular press do its best to paint a rosy picture of job prospects for women The main purpose of Brenda's research was to identify factors that support and perpetuate the glass ceiling for women in public relations and corporate communications management. The author points out, that many researchers in management have attempted to isolate factors contributing to sex segregation and sex discrimination. After analysis of their work she made a conclusion that the body of knowledge is contributed in two very important ways: First, it highlights the need for research about women, research frequently marginalized in both the academic and business arenas. Second, it has begun to suggest factors that create and maintain the glass ceiling in corporate public relations and communications. The author describes in details research problem and its reflection in literature. The research project assumes the glass ceiling as an important area for further study for several reasons that are enumerated by the author. Feminization of the field means that although women make up more than half of the U.S. population their representation in management in public relations and many other fields is a much smaller percentage. The author points out that this limits opportunities for women and the organizations that could benefit from their contributions. Vrenda emphasizes that women in public relations have difficulty being treated equally in terms of advancement and salary. She looks at nature of today's business climate and remarks that the pressure on organizations to practice public relations as more of a two-way communication process becomes even more urgent. The author suggests the following points for consideration: 1: Do women in corporate public relations and communications management perceive a glass ceiling to be in place 2: What factors do women think help to create or maintain the glass ceiling for women in public relations and communications 3: What strategies are there for women in public relations and communications who want to work to eliminate the glass ceiling These are the main questions of the research. In the research the author used qualitative methods because, as the author explained it, the factors contributing to the glass ceiling have not yet been clearly delineated. The study used focus groups (one pretest and two subsequent focus groups) and depth interviews (a total of 10 interviews). Nevertheless, the author uses statistic to show the tendency of nowadays situation in case that groups are too small to show off the full idea. That is reasonable because

Enforceability of international and local mediation outcome Assignment

Enforceability of international and local mediation outcome - Assignment Example A normal mediation session takes three hours to complete and is attended by both the parties. Mediation is fair, efficient and does not require lengthy litigation and investigation. II. ROLE OF THE MEDIATOR The role of the mediator differs in four different phases of mediation.1 He generally is a contract facilitator. The different roles of the mediator are mentioned below; A. The pre-mediation phase This is considered as the most important part of the mediation process. In this phase, the mediator can create a strong base for mediation process. He has to see if the case is suitable for mediation or not. Some cases cannot be resolved through mediation like criminal matters2 thus he has to see whether the mediation should proceed or not. The mediator also has to check the flexibility of both the parties as the end result of the mediation will be ‘a contract’3 and thus it has to be assessed whether both the sides have the capacity to enter into a contract or not. The last thing that has to be checked is the representation of both the parties, the mediator has to check that the representatives are representing according to the law and their authority over the party has to be checked, so that it should be in the mediator’s knowledge that what kind of agreement the representatives can sign. B. ... e mediator engages both the parties in a detailed discussion in which both of them try to understand each other’s point of view and perspective; the third duty, which is being performed by the mediator in this session, is to influence the parties to settle the dispute, to make them reach an agreement and to resolve the dispute; and the last task, that a mediator performs during this session, is to engage both the parties in a thorough discussion regarding the issues which they have agreed upon. During this session the parties discuss past and present agendas, whereas, discussing future issues is optional, even though, the discussion of the future issues is essential for this session as it enables the parties to understand each other’s interests and goals. After this session the mediator and both the parties will be aware of each other’s point of views, goals and interests. Each party will now be able to frame a proposal that will satisfy its interests. In additio n to that, it will also be able to put forward an offer that will be acceptable by the other party. The mediator will now help the parties to check the accessibility and practicability of their offers. C. The separate session ( the private session) In this stage the mediator tries to detect and put forth the issues that the parties did not discuss in the last session, to enable the parties to reach realistic options that satisfy the needs and interests of both the parties and to guide the parties to negotiate on these options in the upcoming session. The role played by mediator in this phase includes the following; firstly, the mediator has to ensure both the parties that the private session is strictly confidential and therefore they can discuss the issues and agendas which they did not discuss in the

Human Resources Staffing Plan with Three Year Forecast by Quarter Essay

Human Resources Staffing Plan with Three Year Forecast by Quarter - Essay Example It is evidently clear from the discussion that the management has discovered that restaurant profits are growing at a very low rate of about three percent annually and the trend is worrying. The first section of the plan shall deal with the essential matter of task identification. An effective human resources management team will be judged based on its competencies. The appropriate behaviors that employees ought to have to work are competencies. A competent framework entails a structure that defines and lays down the employee competency. The human resources must operate within a specified framework in order to view employees and restaurant s as being synonymous. The human resource team must develop a better working environment and terms for the employees to be effective at work. The aim of the company as Miss Cutter put it is business. However, people conduct the business. In other words, human resources must have what will make the employees do their work effectively. This begins wi th appreciating that employees are human and not just tools. The team should then proceed to put the right structures. Following these basics will determine the competence of the human resource framework. Most companies reduce the human resources department to handling payments and being involved in the recruitment exercise while at the same time handling salary omission complains that arise from the staff. The reason is that the human resource has limited its scope of operations by neglecting other roles. The most significant remains ensuring employees is in a perfect psychological state to increase efficiency at work. The human resources ought to carry out an evaluation of the staff based on their efficiency. By doing this, the human resources department will assume a new but rightful passion within restaurants.

Introduction and Thesis Statement The Vietnam War was a long running combat between the nationalist forces and the United States with the alliance of South Vietnam. The war was more a strategic movement by America to curb communism, and the nation’s involvement was in all terms unofficial st atus. The American troops dispatched under the official purpose of military training to the South Vietnamese troops. The war had a huge impact on the music and culture of America. Southwest Airlines Essay Example for Free

Southwest Airlines Essay Marketing is a vital part of any business and is an integral component of selling any product. Whether the business is a small mom and pop operation or a world leader, marketing is a part of the business. Because there are many ways to fulfill the needs of the customer, a straight-forward approach is to consider the four Ps of the marketing mix. This paper will examine the marketing mix and give examples of the marketing mix as it pertains to Southwest Airlines. The four elements of the marketing mix are product, place, promotion and price. Product is the good or service sold to satisfy a customers needs. Place involves all of the decisions required to make the product or service available in the target market, or customers, place. Promotion is the process of informing the target market of the product. Finally, the fourth element of the marketing mix is price. Price setting includes components such as analysis of price setting by the competition as well as analysis regarding acceptance or rejection of prices by the identified market (McCarthy and Perreault, 2002, pp. 48 50). The United States airline industry is very competitive. Following the attacks on September 11th, there have been several airlines that have gone out of business or have filed bankruptcy. Southwest Airlines has been able to stay in business and out of bankruptcy. Southwest Airlines is the only major airline to be profitable for the past 20 years (McCarthy and Perreault, 2004, p. 7). This is in part to their marketing department. Southwest Airlines is an airline with a creative marketing department. The airline industry in the United States has seen many changes of the years. In the early days of air travel, only the wealthy could afford to fly. Flying to a destination was a luxury and not a part of everyday life. Today there is a wide variety of airlines and appeals to a wide variety of consumers. Southwest Airlines distinguishes its products and services from the competition through its marketing campaigns. The Dallas-based airline carved its niche in short-haul flights with low prices, reliable service, and a healthy sense of humor (Armstrong, G Kotler, P., 2005, p.318). This humor is a major theme in the marketing campaign. Southwest distinguishes  itself as a fun airline, known for humorous in-flight commentary from pilots and cabin crew members (Armstrong, G Kotler, P., 2005, p.318). Southwest has brought the place aspect of the marketing mix to all consumers. The place aspect of the marketing mix is where and when to deliver the product. Southwest Airlines uses various avenues for this. One area is providing an 800 number for the consumer to check pricing and availability. Another avenue used is the internet. Southwest Airlines has won several awards for their internet site. The internet site allows the consumer to visit Southwest from anywhere there is an internet connection. So, if you are at the library, office, internet cafà ©, or on a portable device such as a Blackberry, Southwest is there. Southwest has become known as a low cost airline. Through research, Southwest found there is a need for a low cost, no frills airline. Price was important to the consumer when choosing an airline. A poll taken by Airliners.net surveyed, 31% ranked ticket cost as the most important factor when choosing an airline (Airliners, 2006). For the price element of the marketing mix to work, Southwest streamlined its operations. By lowering their costs, Southwest can offer lower fares than their competition. For example, Southwest used one type of aircraft, Boeing 737s, all equipped with the same flight instruments. By doing so, Southwest saves time and money in training their employees on only one type of equipment. Management can substitute aircraft, reschedule flight crews, or transfer mechanics quickly. The tactic also saves money through lower spare-parts inventories and better deals when acquiring new planes (Kotler Keller, 2006, p. 427). The final P of the marketing mix is promotion. Southwest promotes its services is a variety of methods. Television commercials air during highly viewed hours such as sporting events or popular television shows. These commercials usually have a humorous tone as well as information on the latest special. Southwest latest marketing tool is named Ding. Ding is a computer program which allows the consumer to be notified of specials.  Notifications of the specials occur at various times of the day and may occur multiple times per day. The icon for this is a tail of a Southwest plane and appears in the system tray (lower right hand corner of a computer screen). When the specials arrive the icon changes to a piece of mail over the tail section of the plane and a sound occurs. The sound is the Ding tone heard in the Southwest television commercials and in the cabin of the airplane. The consumer can click on the icon to launch the software. The screen appears with the details of the latest special. These specials are market specific and are focused on time availability. The public relations for Southwest speak to the character of the company. Southwest sponsors various charitable events and the employees, including the CEO, volunteer for various events. The charity work Southwest does also aids in the promotion of the company. The consumer may feel the company is good because of its social responsibility. The four elements relate to an organizations marketing strategy. Marketing is just one element of an organizations overall business plan. By understanding the product which the organization is producing, the company will be able to determine materials needed, staffing needed to produce the product, and establish the cost to produce the product. Marketing should not take over production, accounting, and finance of an organization. Marketing should be included in these functions to aid in direction and coordination. Understanding the cost of the product will allow the organization to price the product. The price of the product may vary. The reason for the varying in price is based on the customer perceived value of the product. A product with a higher price tag is generally perceived as a better quality product, while the inverse is also true. An organization should price a product at the point which will benefit the organization best. Marketing is an important element for any business. By analyzing the four Ps of product, price, place, and promotion, an organization can have a successful marketing campaign. Whether the business is a small mom and pop organization or a major corporation such as Southwest Airlines, marketing can play an important role in its success. Understanding the marketing mix will put an organization on the road towards this success. References: Airliners. (2006). Passenger Survey. Retreived March 9, 2006 from http://www.airliners.net. Things Fall Apart Chapter Summary Essay Example for Free

Things Fall Apart Chapter Summary Essay The novel begins with the introduction of Okonkwo, a young man famed throughout for his strength as well as other personal achievements. At the age of eighteen, he had brought honor to his village by overthrowing Amalinze, the cat. Okonkwo was a tall man, with bushy eyebrows and a wide nose. His father, Unoka had always been a failure and a debtor. He was more interested in playing his flute than working in the fields. Because of this, his family never had enough to eat and he became a source of shame to Okonkwo. Once when a neighbor called Okoye had come to him to request him to return his money, Unoka had laughed at him and said that he would first pay the others whom he owed more money. After his fathers death, Okonkwo, though young, won fame as the greatest wrestler. Since then, he has become a wealthy farmer, with two barns full of yams. He also had three wives and two honorific titles and was a great warrior. Everybody respected him in the village for his achievements. Chapter 2 Okonkwo had just prepared for bed when the town criers voice is heard. The message is that every man of Umuofia is to meet at the market place the following morning. He wonders whether Umuofia will go to war and thinks how fearful his father was of war and how he himself has been a great warrior in the past, bringing home his fifth human head. The next morning, the marketplace is full of people, and Ogbuefi Ezeugo, a powerful orator, informs them that a daughter of their village had been murdered by some men from Mbaino, the adjoining village, when she visited its market. An ultimatum is given to Mbaino, asking them to choose between war and an offering of a young man and a virgin as compensation. Okonkwo is sent to negotiate. Umuofia is highly feared by its neighbors for its power; therefore Mbaino chooses the latter proposal and Ikemefuna, a young lad of fifteen and a virgin are sent to Umuofia. The girl is sent to the murdered womans husband to replace her and Okonkwo is requested to keep the lad for the time being while the villagers decide what to do with him. Okonkwo hands over the lad in the care of his most senior wife, mother of his oldest son, Nkoye. Ikemefuna is frightened, as he does not understand why he has been separated from his family. Chapter 3 This chapter reveals more details of Okonkwos fathers failings and his justification for despising him as he does. At a disadvantage, Okonkwo had not inherited a barn from his father like other young men and had to start with nothing. Once on a trip to the consult the Agbala, the Oracle of the Hills and the Caves to find out the reason for his miserable harvest, Unoka was told that it was because of his laziness and not because he had offended the gods. Unoka was so ill-fated that even his death was an undignified one. He died of a swelling in his stomach and his limbs, a type of disease that resulted in his banishment. Therefore, he was carried into the forests and left to die. This made Okonkwo feel even more ashamed of his father. Another story reveals Okonkwos first signs of ambition and the desire to outlive his fathers legacy. While still young and supporting his mother and sisters, Okonkwo approached a wealthy man, Nwakibie, to earn his first seed yams. Nwakibie gave them to him, knowing him to be trust-worthy and hard working. It was Okonkwos bad luck that there was a great drought that year followed by very heavy rains. Both of which contributed to the failure of the seasons harvest. But Okonkwo was a fighter and he survived that year. Chapter 4 Okonkwo was respected by all for his industry and success. In the beginning the boy was afraid, and missed his family. But being a boy of a lively nature, he gradually becomes a part of Okonkwos household. Okonkwos son Nwoye was always with him wherever he went. Okonkwo also becomes fond of him, but he never shows his emotions, as he considers affec tion to be a womanly sign of weakness. When Okonkwo goes to his fieldsto plant the harvest, he takes Nwoye and Ikemefuna with him but he rebukes them if they are slow in understanding what he wants them to learn quickly. When the rains begin great care has to be taken of the young plants. The children then sit around the cooking fire telling stories, or they sit with their fathers, roasting and eating maize. It is during the period of rest that the friendship between Ikemefuna and Nwoye becomes even stronger. Chapter 5 The Feast of the New Yam is now approaching. It takes place just before the harvest and is an occasion of thanksgiving to the earth goddess, Ani. The night before the feast, the old yams are disposed of and on the new year, all the cooking pots are thoroughly washed before being used for the new crop. Yam foo-foo and vegetables soup is prepared. Guests are invited to partake of the food. The walls of the house are decorated with designs and the women and children anoint and decorate themselves. Okonkwo is no t very enthusiastic about the feast. He would rather work in his fields. His suppressed resentment regarding the feast explodes when he thinks that somebody has cut one of his banana trees. When he discovers that the culprit is his second wife, Ekwefi, he beats her and then shoots at her with his gun but fortunately, he misses. In spite of Okonkwos outburst, the festival is celebrated with great joy by his family. On the second day, there is a wrestling contest in which Okonkwo participates. Okonkwos wives prepare the evening meal and the food is served by each of their daughters. One of his daughters, Ezinma, discusses the forthcoming wrestling contest. Okonkwo is particularly fond of this daughter, but as usual does not show his love for her. Chapter 6 The wrestling contests are to be held on the second day of the festival. Everyone from the village gathers to watch these contests, as they are great sources of pride for the villagers. It begins with boys of fifteen or sixteen who provide some entertainment before the more serious matches. One of the winners is the son of Obierika, a friend of Okonkwo. Ekwefi, Okonkwos second wife, loves the wrestling matches and remembers how she fell in love with Okonkwo when he beat the great wrestler, Cat. Although she was married at the time, she left her husband once she found out Okonkwo had enough money to marry her. Ekwefi meets Chielo, the priestess of Agbala, the oracle, who asks about her daughters health. The last match is between Okafo and Ikezue, the leaders of the teams. The earlier year, there had been a draw as they had the same style of fighting but this time, a fierce match ensues and Okafo wins the match. The people sing his praises, carrying him on their shoulders. Chapter 7 Ikemefuna has been living in Okonkwos household for three years now. He is like an older brother to Nwoye and has taught him how to be more manly. Okonkwo is glad that Nwoye is developing fast into manhood and he encourages both boys to be masculine and violent. He tells them stories of conquest and violence and they all make derisive comments about women. Nwoye participates in these activities yet still enjoys his mothers stories more than his fathers yet he tries to please him and so goes to his hut at night. Months pass, and then the locusts arrive in the village. This arrival is an unexpected one, but the people rejoice because locusts are considered to be very tasty and delectable. When the locusts swarm in and cover the entire area, the villagers slowly creep out and collect as many locusts as they can catch during the night. They are then roasted and spread to dry. It is then eaten with palm oil.Nwoye is terribly upset by the death and feels similar to the time when he had been crossing the forest and heard a thin wail of an infant. Nwoye had known that twins who were born were considered evil and were hidden in earthware pots and thrown into the forest. Hearing the wail, something had given way inside him. Hearing of Ikemefunas death , the same feeling rises in him. Chapter 8 Okonkwo is unable to forget Ikemefuna and drowns himself in palm-wine to mitigate his sorrow. When his daughter Ezinma brings him food, he finds himself wishing that she were a boy. He berates himself for being so weak and lamenting Ikemefunas death. Finally, after three days he rouses himself from his sorrow and goes to meet his friend Obierika. Obierikas son Maduka had won in the wrestling combat and is a promising lad and worthy of his fathers pride. Obierika had refused to accompany the rest of the village in killing Ikemefuna. On being asked why, he replies that he had something better to do, and that this deed would not please the Earth because of the mens actions. But Okonkwo disagrees with him. At that point, Ofoedu enters with the news that an elder, Ogbuefi Ndulue of Ira village had died but the drums had not been beaten because his trusted wife Ozoemena, hearing of her husbands death, had died too. According to custom, Ndulues funeral was to be held off until his wifes burial. The two men disapprove of the close relationship that this man had with his wife and wond er how such a warrior in battle could be so weak in his marriage. They also discuss the loss of prestige that goes with one of the titles for tapping wine out of palm trees. Feeling better after their talk, Okonkwo goes home, and then returns in time to help Obierika bargain for the marriage-price of his daughter. The daughter, Akueke has been suitably dressed for the occasion. The dowry is bargained upon and settled at twenty bags of cowries. Food is then brought in and the men make small talk. The first mention of the white man is made, but it is more in jest as the word for leper means white skin. Chapter 9 Okonkwo finally sleeps well after three nights but is roused out of his sleep by Ekwefi, his second wife, who tells him that his daughter, Ezinma is dying. He goes out to collect leaves and bark to ease the childs fever. Ezinma is the center of her mothers world as Ekwefi has suffered a great deal, having lost nine children in infancy. They had tried all they could to discover what the problem is but all the medicine man could say was that sh e kept giving birth to an ogbanje, a child who dies young because an evil spirit possesses it and re-enters the mothers womb to be born again. By the time Ezinma was born, Ekwefi had lost her will and accepted her fate with resignation. When she lived for six years, her mother realized that she may stay and loved her with all her might. She thought that her troubles had ended when Ezinmas iyi-uwa was unearthed, but now she is ill again. The iyi-uwu was supposed to break the connection between the objanje world and Ezinma. Okonkwo brings in a bundle of grass, leaves, roots and barks of medicinal trees, puts them in a pot and boils them. Once it is cooked, he rouses Ezinma and makes her sit beside the steaming pot to inhale the steam. A mat is thrown over her head. When the mat is removed, she is bathed in perspiration. Soon she falls asleep after lying on a mat. Chapter 10 A very dramatic public ceremony is described in detail that involves meting out justice. On the village commons, folks gather, with elders sitting on stools and the rest of the village men behind them. Nine stools are placed for the egwugwu to sit. Egwugwu represent the spirits of their ancestors and are respected members of the community who can d ispense justice in trials. Women stand on the edges of the circle, looking in the direction of the egwugwu house. A gong is loudly blasted and the guttural voice of the egwugwu is heard. When he makes his appearance, it is very dramatic as he wears a fearful looking mask and pretends to scare the women. Along with him, nine other masked men emerge. Okonkwos wives notice that one of the egwugwu walks with a springy step such as Okonkwo does. They also notice he is absent from where the elders sit. After discussion among the egwugwu, Evil Forest returns with a verdict. He tells Uzowulu to bring wine to his wifes family and beg his wife to return to him. He also expresses disgust at Uzowulus cowardice in beating women and askes him to accept his brother-in-laws offer. Afterwards, one elders discusses the trivial nature of this case and another says that Uzowulu would accept any decision other than the egugwu. Next a land dispute is discussed. Chapter 11 One night, Ezinma and her mother are sitting in their hut having their supper. Ekwefi is telling a story about a tortoise and birds which explains w hy the tortoise shell is uneven. When she finishes, Ezinma begins her story. Half way through, she has to break off because they could hear Chielo, the priestess of Agbala prophesying, and calling to Okonkwo. Chielo then enters the hut and insists on talking Ezinma with her since Agbala wanted to see her. Carrying Ezinma on her shoulders, she takes off into the hills. Ekwefi follows her doggedly, though the path is very dangerous and risky. Finally they reach the caves and Chielo enters with Ezinma. Ekwefi is frightened of what might be happening inside. Behind her, she hears a footstep, and finds Okonkwo, who has followed behind her. Both of them wait together outside the cave for Chielo to reappear, and Ekwefi is grateful for his presence. Chapter 12 Okonkwo and Ekwefi wait for Ezinmas exit from the cave but it is not until the early morning hours that Chielo appears with Ezinma. She doe not acknowledge either of them, but simply walks straight to Ezinmas hut and puts her to bed. The parents follow behind. That day there is a festive air in the neighborhood as Obierika is celebrating his daughters uri, a part of the betrothal ceremony, where the bridegroom brings the palm-wine for the b rides family, her kin, and extended family. Every family carries some food to the wedding house and the brides mother is responsble for preparing the food for everyone. Tripods are exacted for the fire, and food is being prepared by the women. Ekwefi is tired from the night before and waits until Ezinma wakes up and eats breakfast. Okonkwos other wives leave to help prepare the food. By afternoon, two pots of palm-wine arrive from the in-laws house. Later, the in-laws arrive each carrying a pot of wine. In all, fifty pots are received which is a respectable number. Kola nuts are offered and the betrothal is finalized. A great feast is laid out and everyone partakes in it happily. In the night, the young men start singing, the bride dances and everyone is gay. Chapter 13 In the middle of the night, the sound of a drum and a cannon announces the death of Ogbuefi Ezendu, the oldest man in the clan. Hearing this, Okonkwo remembers his last words to him about Ikemefuna and shudders. The whole village attends the funeral as Ogbuefi was a man with three titles, an achievement that was rare. Since he was a warrior, the funeral abounds in warriors, dressed in raffia skirts. Once in a while an egwugwu spirit makes its appearances from the underworld. Some of them are quite violent and terrifying and often threatening. The most terrifying one is shaped like a coffin, and a sickly odor emanates from him. The funeral is very befitting of a noble warrior. Before the burial the warriors dance, drums are sounded and guns are fired. A frenzied feeling fills the air as people bemoan the loss of Ogbuefi. The air is full of the smell of gunpowder. In the midst of this ceremony, a cry of agony is heard. Ezudus son is found lying dead in the crowd shot by Okonkwo who fired his gun and accidentally hit pierced the young boys heart. Okonkwo knows that killing a member of ones own tribe is a crime against the Goddess of the Earth and therefore he is banished from his village for seven years. He and his family escape to the village of his mother called Mbanta. After daybreak, the men, dressed in garbs of war, set fire to his house, not due to vindictiveness, but to cleanse the land that Okonkwo had polluted. Obierika, his friend, mourns his friends calamity.

Definition Of The Four Factors Of Production Commerce Essay

Definition Of The Four Factors Of Production Commerce Essay Natural Resources sometimes called land consists of all the gifts of nature. This includes mineral deposits, water, arable land, vegetation, natural forests, marine resources, the atmosphere, sunshine and animal life. They are a fixed supply. If we want more of them, their availability cannot be increased. It is possible to exploit some of the resources, for example, minerals. Once the minerals are used, they cannot be replaced. Labour is defined as the exercise of human mental and physical effort in the production of goods and services, where humans are rewarded in the form of an income. The quality of labour is depends on the size of the population and the portion that is able and willing to work. The quality of labour, which is described by the skill, knowledge and health of the workers, is important. Capital is made up of manufactured resources, such as machines, tools and buildings which are used in the production of other goods and services. It is those tangible things that are used to produce other things. These resources do not have an unlimited life. Entrepreneurship is the availability of natural resources, labour and capital is not sufficient to ensure economic success. These factors of production have to be organised by people who see opportunity and are willing to take risks to producing the goods, believing that they will be sold. These people are called entrepreneurs. They are the driving force behind the production. They are the innovators, the initiators, who take initiative. They believe that their ideas will make a profit. 2.1 The Four Factors of Production in the Economy 2.1.1 Natural Resources To improve the use natural resources we can implement regulations to protect the natural resources like forests which will increase tourism; encourage farming to grow vegetables and fruit; the investment to improve the technology to mine minerals; and find ways to improve the usage of our natural resources. 2.1.2 Labour The labour regulations restrict entrepreneurship, enable government sponsor, enable employment, regulate minimum wage, maintain standards of working conditions, and ensure safety conditions. 2.1.3 Capital We can encourage foreign investment, investments in infrastructure to enhance production easier, for example road maintenance and encourage of loans for new businesses. 2.1.4 Entrepreneurship To encourage entrepreneurship the change can start in schools whereby economics can be introduced as part of the curriculum, encourage businesses to have open days for students to learn how the business works, develop and have tools that enhance entrepreneurship. 2.2 The Four Factors of Production in our Organisation 2.2.1 Natural Resources For the organisation, there are no natural resources that are used. 2.2.2 Labour Employing individuals who have the qualifications, the mental effort, knowledge and brain power, to fit the organisations culture and values will enhance the business. Training will empower and enhance the employees to do their job effectively. BankSeta assists in improving and up-skilling employees in the financial sector. It is important to taking care of the well-being of the employees for example, having a canteen for employees where the food is easily accessible and safe and time to go and buy lunch and to ensure employees get the relevant training so that they are efficient in their job. There are two types of physical energies in the organisation Sales and Admin. Sales bring in the business so the Admin can do their job. The organisation is reliant on clients for the business to grow. Admin run the day-to-day admin and they are dependant on the external energy. 2.2.3 Capital In the previous premises, the parking was not easily accessible, the building could not accommodate all the employees, there were not enough working stations and the technology was not up to standard. In the new building the technology and software have been upgraded. The organisation needs to ensure that the systems are suitable for the Banking sector. Suitable working stations are installed, which will enhance the well-being and working environment of the employees. The building and meeting rooms have been built to enhance the clientele and interaction with clients. The building projects the organisations values and culture. The organisations brand and reputation has been built on RMB and it continues to build its reputation through its client services. 2.2.4 Entrepreneurship The organisation encourages innovations. There is an innovations blog where employees can submit their ideas to management where all ideas are taking in consideration. The organisation is flat structured and open plan Managers are open to their employees and provide constant feedback. Employees are empowered and encouraged to take control of their own development. Employees live and believe in the organisations values and culture. The organisation is developing self sustaining systems. The organisation is current implementing the care and growth model which is focused on caring and growing the employees as individuals. 3. The South Africa Foreign Trade (Imports and Exports) In this section of the assignment, I refer to the Trade Report October 2009 submitted. The basic indicators section indicates the trade per capita which is the estimated trade of goods and services over the last three years based on the population. The GDP is measured in nominal terms and with market exchange rates. The trade-to-GDP ratio is the estimated trade of goods and services over the last three years based on the GDP. The real GDP are exports and import of goods and services of data at constant prices. The ranks in the world trade of merchandise and services are defined as members as individual traders and as one trader. In my opinion the percentage drop from 2007-2008 was from the Wall Street financial fall in 2008, which affected the percentage drop from 2007-2008 of exporting of goods and services. As we had the FICA and KYC regulations in place, this protected us. The percentage drop from 2007-2008 of importing of goods and services, in my opinion, reflected the fact that the importers were being cautious and they were concerned that the locals wouldnt ha ve the funds to buy goods and services. Consumer spending per household decreased. The merchandise trade is broken up into three sections Agricultural products, Fuels and mining product and Manufactures. In my opinion the percentage drop from 2007-2008 of merchandise exports was caused by the financial fall of Wall Street. The merchandise imports percentage from 2007-2008 stayed constant. For South Africa, I feel that we have not been as affected as much as other countries. The country felt the recession in 2009. Exporting and Importing of: Agriculture which consists of raw materials and foods such as vegetables, fruit, maize, sugar. In my opinion we export the best grade of our food and sell the rest to the locals. This increases the production of GDP and the economy. We should increase our export of agriculture. We import fewer foods and products into the country. Fuels and mining products which consists of other minerals, fuel and ores and non-ferrous metals. In my opinion we should not export that much. This should decrease. We should rather increase our skills and knowledge so that we can export the end product. This would increase our GDP and the economy. For example, gold: we export most of our raw gold and import the end product because we do not have the skills and knowledge to make the jewellery. The constant decrease and increase of fuel prices affects the economy and people spend. The percentage of imports, in my opinion, is acceptable as this keeps the balance of the economic production levels. Manufactures which refers to steel, iron, chemicals, other semi-manufactures, machinery, transport equipment, textiles, clothing and other consumer goods. In my opinion the percentage of exports should decrease as the country should use these materials to build the economy of the country. In building the status of our country, this would increase our economic growth. For example, building houses. The exporting keeps our foreign exchange inline with other countries. If the exporting decreases, the importing will decrease. In some instances, it is better to import the parts to be assembled locally than to import the end product. For example, in the Operations, Implementation Management and Sustainability, the lecturer gave an example of a company who saved on overall costs by importing the parts and assembling it locally instead of importing the end product. South Africa has very innovative people and we should start believing in what we have. When government or investors do not see th e potential of the innovative ideas, the innovators end up selling their ideas to other countries and end up importing the end product. We should spend more time in investing in these innovative ideas as this will increase our economic growth. Commercial Services Trade, which refers to construction, finance, computer, insurance, communication, cultural and recreational services, information, other businesses, royalties and other fees. In my opinion the percentage of exports and imports indicates that there is a lack of interest, interaction and investment in South Africa from other countries. Transportation in my opinion the percentage of exports is acceptable. The percentage of imports indicates that we lack the skills and knowledge to sustain our transportation. Travel the percentage of exports indicates that locals prefer to travel to other countries instead of our own. We should improve our tourism locally to encourage the locals and foreigners to explore South Africa. This country has so much to offer. Other commercial services in my opinion the percentage is acceptable. We are losing people who have the skills and knowledge in industries like medicine, engineering, technology and construction to other countries. We should be retaining these skills to build a better country. We should be investing in developing in our people, empowering them so that they have pride in themselves and are proud of their country, so they can make it a better place to live. 4. The Banking Sector, Organisation, Department and I The organisation forms part of the banking sector. The banking sector is linked to economic growth through enhancing the access to financial services, and increasing competitiveness of domestic financial markets both of which reduce the costs of financing. The basic role that the banking sector plays in the process of transferring savings to borrowers is risk sharing, providing liquidity, information and improving efficiency. If the financial markets are well developed, they improve the availability of funds to support borrowers and channel the funds to where the rates of returns are higher. Positive effects like this can increase the economic growth by larger capital accumulation with lower cost of financing and increased efficiency. But in some countries, the financial markets are not developed and market failures exist everywhere. By improving the access to financial services and the efficiency of financial go-between, which can reduce the cost of financing the banking sector, stimulates capital accumulation and economic growth. The role of money replaced the barter system. Each person could trade whatever he or she produced for one common thing. Money means a set of common prices can be established. Money is a medium of exchange between individuals and a way to distribute the ownership in society. It is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts. Money is used for everyday spending and saving for the future. Saving money for future use is to ensure that the values of the savings do not decrease but increase overtime by through investments and earning of interest. Money helps our economy to work more smoothly, it has three key roles: A medium of exchange A unit of account or a standard of value A store of value for future use The characteristics of money: Durable Not easily produced by people Relatively scarce Not too scarce Easily transported Divisible The organisation needs to ensure that their products are inline with their competitors and maintain the supply of money and borrowing from clients. The Learning Solutions (LS) Department is in the process of becoming a self-sustaining system. We are working well together and have the same focus and goals. At our yearly meeting, we discuss the past year what we have accomplished, what obstacles we came across, how we can improve, what changes we would like to see and what our focus and goals will be for the coming year. We had looked at the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department and determined that there were common areas and functions that the HR department had. The LS department was a closed system and had no interconnections with them. The HR department have three subsystems namely, People Development, Administration and New Recruits. The overlapping of work areas are the new recruits and the people development. Changes needed to be made. The changes that HR department made: Administration is an open and closed system, they have confidential information that should not be shared with other employees (salaries and medical aid) and the employees submit general administration / queries New Recruits is an open and closed system, they too have confidential information that should not be shared with other employees (agreements between the Bank and employee) and information about the new recruits will be shared with the LS department People Development is an open and closed system, they have a good relationship with all the managers and know where employee development is required and this information will be shared with the LS department The changes that the LS department made: Develop a open relationship with the New Recruits team Develop a open relationship with the People Development team In making these changes we are enabling the growth of knowledge and empowerment in the employees. The employees are enabled to be efficient at their job. In being efficient and knowledgeable, they will enhance the growth of our clients and their investments which will assist the growth of the economy. Each individual contributes to the economy. How can I contribute to the economy? I need to understand my financial status and increase my wealth. I need to determine what money I save and invest for the future and invest in my country. I need to sustain my knowledge and personal growth. I need to be aware of the countrys financial status. I need to balance my needs with the available resources. 5. Inflation Consumer Habits and Behaviour The definition of inflation is the rise in prices of goods and services in an economy over a period of time. When price levels rise, the unit of currency buys fewer goods and services. It is an erosion of the purchasing power of money. Inflation occurs when the price increase of goods and services are recorded over a period of time. The general price level is measured by the Consumer Price Index. As the price levels rise, the consumer habits and behaviour are affected. Consumer behaviour is the study of when, why, how and where people do or do not buy goods and services. It is about understanding the consumers buying decision-making process in an attempt to understand peoples wants. Habitual patterns of spending that consumers have over a period of time are the best thing that can happen to a brand. For this to happen there are two conditions that need to satisfy the consumer the brand in question must fall into a product category that elicits a low level of involvement from the consumer when considering purchasing the product and the consumer becomes a satisfied customer when buying the product the brand should deliver on what was promised. For the brand to be a part of the consumers habit, the critical requirement is the delivery of value on the first purchase. Inflation occurs when the demand for goods and services increase and the supply remains unchanged or the increase of cost of production which pushes up the price level. How does this affect the consumer? It is dependant on the affordability of the consumer. For example, in the beginning of the year 2008 I bought 6 chocolate muffins at Woolworths for R10.99. In 2009, the costs had increased to R24.99 for the same product. Due to the price increase, I no longer buy the chocolate muffins. 6. Microeconomics and Macroeconomics Microeconomics is the study of how household and organisations make decision to allocate limited resources. It examines the behaviour affect of the supply and demand of the goods and services which determines the prices which in turn determine the supply and demand of the goods and services. Macroeconomics deals with the performance, structure and behaviour of the entire world. It looks at indicators such as GDP, unemployment rates, price indexes to understand the whole economy functions. If the micro and macro economical performance was sustainably improved, the changes to the consumer behaviour would be: For Micro: Our environment would be more stable There would be overall well-being and enjoyment in individuals, less stress Depending on the individuals mindset, there would be more investment and spending The wealth of individuals would grow Decrease in crime Decrease in immigration of individuals Increase of skilled individuals Downfall is that there would be overspending and more debt For Macro: The economy would be more liquid There would be a growth in external investors The country would be more productive and innovative Increase of tourism Increase of entrepreneurship and resources Increase of the well being of the country Decrease of poverty 7. Conclusion Each one of us on an individual level has an affect on the economy, which affects the organisation, which affects the country. If the organisation wants to grow they need to have good leadership skills and delivery of goods and services. In my opinion the improvement of the economy starts with oneself. I have a good understanding of my own finances and how I can increase my wealth. I have realised that I need to improve my understanding of my organisation and how it affects the economy of the country. I need to improve my understanding of the economy of the country.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee :: To Kill a Mockingbird Essays

To Kill a Mockingbird is set in the town of Maycomb, Alabama. The story is told through the eyes of Jean Louise "Scout" Finch, who is the age of six in the beginning of the tale. She tells the story in sequential order for the period of three summers. Jean Louise ‘Scout’ Finch She narrates the story describing her life between the ages of six and nine.   She is a tomboy and well educated, mainly due to her father, and she has an optimistic view of the world and people around her. She lives with her widowed father, older brother and their black cook. Atticus Finch Scout’s father is a lawyer in Maycomb and is descended from a well-respected local family. He has had to raise his children alone and has instilled in them a strong sense of morality and fair play.   During the 1930’s there were great problems between the races, and he was one of the few committed to attaining equality for both blacks and whites.   He agrees to defend a local black man charged with rape which exposing himself and his family to anger from the white community. Jeremy Atticus ‘Jem’ Finch Scout’s brother is four years her senior, but is her constant playmate at the beginning of the story.   Towards the end of the tale he moves into adolescence and is shaken badly by the evil and injustice, which he witnesses during the trial of Tom Robinson. Tom Robinson A black sharecropper who is accused of rape of a white woman, a member of the Ewell clan. Calpurnia The old family cook of the Finch family, she is a stern disciplinarian and provides a link between the white world of the children and her own black community. Arthur ‘Boo’ Radley A recluse who has never set foot outside his house for fifteen years who becomes a source of intrigue for the children, adding fuel to their fertile imaginations. The Characters seem very real to me . The situations and lessons learn in the book ,seem as if I was there myself. Also the framing of the black man, shows the racism that I've read about in other books. Also what I've experienced myself before. The main conflicts of the story involve Tom Robinson and Boo Radley. Boo has been shut away from the world by his father and then later his brother through an incident which occurred fifteen years earlier when he stabbed his father with a pair of scissors.

Protecting the Privacy of Individuals on the Internet Essay -- Interne

Protecting the Privacy of Individuals on the Internet Over the past decade the world has gotten much smaller due to the electronic communication the Internet has fostered. While this promotes business and international relations, problems arise regarding the protection of individuals’ personal information. Many countries around the world have developed privacy policies and laws protect an individual's information in the realm of electronic communication. Universal enforcement gets complicated because the Internet is not restricted to one country; it’s worldwide. As a result, concerns arise regarding the compatibility of various countries' privacy policies. This paper will discuss the current legislation in place for various major countries1, the existing conflicts between these countries’ policies and the implications these conflicts hold for the protection of privacy on the Internet. To begin, consider how countries handle the privacy of individuals in general, not exclusively in the electronic environment. Most countries around the world protect an individual’s right to privacy in some respects, because â€Å"privacy is a fundamental human right that has become one of the most important human rights of the modern age†2. Definitions for privacy vary according to context and environment. For example, in the United States Justice Louis Brandeis defined privacy as the â€Å"right to be left alone†3. In the United Kingdom, privacy is â€Å"the right of an individual to be protected against intrusion into his personal life or affairs†¦by direct physical means or by publication of information†4. Australian legislation states that â€Å"privacy is a basic human right and the reasonable expectation of every person†5. The Theatre Metaphor in The Tempest :: Tempest essays

The Theatre Metaphor in The Tempest    The theatre metaphor also helps to explain why, in the last analysis, Prospero has to surrender his magical powers. Life cannot be lived out in the world of illusions, delightful and educative as they can often be. Life must be lived in the real world, in Milan or in Naples, and Miranda cannot thus entirely fulfill herself on the island. The realities of life must be encountered and dealt with as best we can. The world of the theatre can remind us of things we may too easily forget; it can liberate and encourage youthful wonder and excitement at all the diverse richness of life; it can, at times, even wake people up to more important issues than their own Machiavellian urge to self-aggrandizement, and, most important of all, it can educate us into forgiveness. But it can never finally solve the problem of evil, and it can never provide an acceptable environment for a fully realized adult life.    Prospero, as I see it, doesn't start the play fully realizing all this. He launches his experiment from a mixture of motives, perhaps not entirely sure what he going to do (after all, one gets the sense that there's a good deal of improvising going on). But he learns in the play to avoid the twin dangers to his experiment, the two main threats to the value of his theatrical magic.    The first I have already alluded to, namely, the danger of using of his powers purely for vengeance. Prospero, like Shakespeare, is a master illusionist, and he is tempted to channel his personal frustrations into his art, to exact vengeance against wrongs done in Milan through the power of his art (perhaps, as some have argued, as Shakespeare is doing for unknown personal reasons against women in Hamlet and Lear). But he learns from Ariel that to do this is to deny the moral value of the art, whose major purpose is to reconcile us to ourselves and our community, not to even a personal score.    The second great threat which we see in this play is that Prospero may get too involved in his own wonderful capabilities, he may become too much the showman, too proud of showing off his skill to attend to the final purpose of what he is doing.

Attitudes Toward Global Warming Environmental Sciences Essay

Climate alteration ( Global Warming ) or upwind conditions change ( Climate Change ) is the planetary mean temperature addition of the consequence of planetary heating. Or at our well-known name in the Greenhouse Effect by planetary heating. Which is the cause of increased human emanations of C dioxide from firing assorted fuels, transit and industrial production. In add-on, we have added human group azotic oxide gas. Fluid and chloro Robert C ( CFC ) to besides at the same time. With our film editing and devastation of immense woods to make installations for work forces. Pull out the mechanism of C dioxide out of the clime system is to cut down efficiency. In most things. We have done the universe has come back to us in the mode of all the planetary heating phenomenon caused by planetary heating is the cause of assorted toxic emanations from mills. Sunlight penetrates the ambiance to the Earth even more. That is known by the call that Greenhouse conditions. For the universe ‘s atmosphere consists of nitrogen 78 % O 21 % Ar gas is 0.9 % out of steam. And a little sum of C dioxide. Although N, O and Ar are cardinal constituents of the ambiance. But it does non act upon planetary temperature. In contrast, larger gas molecules such as methane, H2O vapour and C dioxide in the ambiance, even a small. To hold the ability to absorb infrared radiation. And act uponing planetary temperature warm We call this the gas them. â€Å" Greenhouse gases † ( Greenhouse gas ) because the belongingss of heat keeping. Without nursery gases already. Earth ‘s surface temperature is merely -18 grades Celsius, which means that all H2O on Earth will go ice. Global warming consequence in higher planetary temperatures. In the last 10 old ages, The 2538 – 2549 as the hottest twelvemonth of all time recorded since 2539 and runing polar ice incident sea degree rise. Including terrible natural catastrophes from climate alteration events throughout the universe such as hurricanes typhoon mudslide drouth and implosion therapy across Asia and Central America. While Europe faced with the terrible heat moving ridge. This demonstrates the sensitive nature of the mechanism of the universe are numbering on the progressively violent state of affairs, planetary heating causes of clime variableness and seasonal rainfall Are impacting a?†ºaa? ° Taste of Thailand is no different from other states in the universe by detecting from a natural catastrophe that occurred in recent old ages, Thailand has the drouth storm and inundation impacts of planetary heating. The obvious short-run to Thailand has caused harm to many agricultural merchandises. The impact such. May impact the position of Thailand ‘s agricultural production is the top of the universe. Including trade publicity scheme Thai Kitchen to the kitchen universe, particularly Thailand ‘s cardinal harvests such as rice because of studies of International Rice Research Institute in China found that Higher temperatures in a rice pollen, which affects really sensitive to temperature non on the rice mixture. The spike in seedless From the study would impact the fabrication sector and export Thai rice in the hereafter If the clime more intense. The behaviour of human life is more comfy in all activities about day-to-day energy ingestion is related to about every human being is a portion in doing planetary heating. And causes planetary warming affect people really much. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every individual every unit every organisation must work together to cut down planetary heating that is go oning to our ain endurance. Rajamangala University of Technology as a aggregation and supply cognition and information society. Has of import functions. To assist cut down planetary heating in the direction of endeavor itself and the medium in the run to cut down planetary heating to those who are in all ages so everyone is cognizant of responsibility to assist. cut down planetary heating.1.2 Statement of the job.1. Most pupils used bike used autos than. 2. Students do non assist to divide waste before go forthing to each type of rubbish. 3. Students and stores, most normally used plastic froth is most. 4. Students do non assist salvage energy.1.3 Research Aims1. Goal of cut downing planetary heating in order to develop consciousness of everyone to assist the run about things that do non impact the clime. 2. For seek the manner will to assist to conserve the energy and utilize the resource that exist are born uppermost advantage. 3. For grow the witting can give a individual realizes the consequence from planetary heating. 4. For fight give pupils turns to go to in the cooperation decreases planetary heating.1.4 Scope of researchThe research is studied about the Attitude toward planetary heating ; A run the pupils in RMUTT. The instance to the job is every bit follow: To analyze the job of the most pupils used bike than used autos in RMUTT. To work out the job of the pupils do non assist to divide waste before go forthing to each type of rubbish at RMUTT. To analyze the job of Students and stores, most normally used plastic froth is most at RMUTT. To work out the job of Students do non assist salvage energy at RMUTT.1.5 Restrictions of the ResearchIn research, we may hold jobs that can non be controlled, such as non understanding the inquiry. A inquiry non to collaborate or non. Different attitudes of the Gulf population study such as the apprehension of planetary heating.1.6 Significance of the StudyBenefits of the survey the causes and jobs of planetary heating to cognize that the act should be how avoid extra jobs. We can happen a manner to protect nature and assist the universe more rich people and animate beings have adequate nutrient and lodging demands.1.7 Definition of Footings1.Carbon dioxide ( chemical expression CO2 ) is a chemical compound composed of two O atoms covalently bonded to a individual C atom. It is a gas at standard temperature and force per unit area and exists in Earth ‘s ambiance in this province. CO2 is a hint gas consisting 0.039 % of the ambiance. Carbon dioxide will retain some heat in the universe. Not reflect back into the ambiance, There is no atmosphere filtered energy from the Sun ) is doing the universe warm. 2.Methane is a comparatively powerful nursery gas. Compared with C dioxide, it has a high planetary warming potency of 72 Methane is a chemical compound with the chemical expression CH4. It is the simplest methane series, and the chief constituent of natural gas. Methane ‘s bond angles are 109.5 grades. Burning methane in the presence of O green goodss C dioxide and H2O. The comparative copiousness of methane makes it an attractive fuel. However, because it is a gas at normal temperature and force per unit area, methane is hard to transport from its beginning. methane will retain some heat in the universe. Not reflect back into the ambiance, otherwise the universe will all go like the Moon. The cold at dark ( and daytime heat. There is no atmosphere filtered energy from the Sun ) is doing the universe warm to this Similar to the rules of the nursery ( where the harvests ) is called the nursery. 3. Gas azotic oxide ( N2O ) . Of human industry, such as azotic acid used in the production procedure, plastic, nylon industry, chemical industry, fuel combustion remains of workss and animate beings, fertiliser, and firing woods. Global warming ensuing in 6 % 4. Gas incorporating chloro Fluid Organic Carbon Road ( CFCS ) . Industries such as human. And equipment used in day-to-day life, such as froth, spray tins, infrigidation ; Refrigerator Air, the devastation ( and the gas is chemically good with the ozone in the atmospheric ozone decreased or defect in the ozone bed ) .Chapter 22.1 Definition and Features of the Independent VariableWe would cognize that planetary heating caused by nursery gases in the ambiance excessively. Greenhouse gases include C dioxide, an of import 1. Caused by the firing fuel to utilize. Peoples who own these gas emanations come out a batch of energy to be used. How much more we consume. The more nursery gases to come out more closely. If we consider the rate of energy ingestion during the past half-arrow be found consistent with the addition of C dioxide gas in the air every bit good. And non likely to worsen during the close hereafter. Phenomena that occurs is uninterrupted. In fact, the intervention procedure itself in the universe. If it is a status that occurs of course. The universe will return to equilibrium in a clip non long earlier. But because we worlds accelerate production of nursery gases out extra capacity. The universe to mend yourself to maintain up. The happening of rapid planetary heating and serious had happened. Decision is. Causes of planetary heating this is the adult male.2.2 Theories Related to the Independent Variable ( s )X 1. Most pupils used bike used autos than bikes.Used autos and trucks is one of the most environmentally destructive behaviour, and so it is that most of us combined besides cause air pollution, autos and trucks are doing H2O pollution. ( Due to production and gasolene ) and they want the route harm to natural landscape and wildlife. Fortunately, the transit options including walking, bike and vehicle for, an option that works for pupils, UVM possible, but fortuitously du e to web major prosaic paths bicycle friendly rather get around Burlington is non fossil fuel ingestion or bring forth pollution. However, many of UVM is the figure of autos and SUVs when the pupil must be certain beyond walking will hold the option drive Chittenden County Transportation Authority ( CCTA ) Car-free! It besides can be used skateboard, bike, skates roller, monocycle, or places with constitutional heelwheels, wheeling around the metropolis and the university is an option that works non merely you did non lend to pollution in the air you get in form The best and reasonably cool to see the walk / run / skip / sashaying means to have a good unit of ammunition.X 2. Students do non assist to divide waste before go forthing to each type of rubbish.Waste direction systems affect the environment and techniques in several ways. To cut down environmental impact and intervention of biological resources and keep environmental betterment and sustainability benefits originating from alterations in waste direction for environmental benefits compared to fire with no cost increase Very utile, particularly in the environmental impact. In waste separation will ensue in cut downing the happening of planetary heating, excessively. This will ensue in society and the state has to populate with rich resources, which the campus can supply pupils with separate waste before go forthing and to be easy to divide or convey back to new Would be good to the pollution around the university besides reviewing.X 3. Students and stores, most normally used plastic froth is most. The research in Australian survey presents the findings of a life-cycle appraisal ( LCA ) that examined whether a re-use and recycle scheme for a plastic-based packaging that well reduces the measure of waste to landfill would besides cut down the overall environmental load. To relieve social concerns over the increased rate of resource ingestion and waste production, policy shapers have encouraged recycling a nd reuse schemes to cut down the demand for natural stuffs and diminish the measure of waste to landfill. Therefore, in the country around Rajamangala University of Technology pupils, eating house should collaborate Separate fictile waste from other waste. In order to be recycled or decently destroyed to salvage resources for the hereafter and besides assist to cut down planetary heating is another manner.X4. Students do non assist salvage energy. The research with instruction and an inducement, involvement, motivate and authorise college pupils to cut down resource usage in residence halls in USA. In a post-competition study, pupils reported that they would go on preservation patterns developed during the competition and that they would see web-based real-time informations even in the absence of competition. So in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi should be motive college pupils to cut down resource usage in university for salvaging resource to utilize in the hereafter and it will besides assist cut down planetary heating.2.3 Critical Analysis / treatment of the Theories Related to the Independent VariableJames Hansen and other advocates of the theory that worlds are doing a unsafe alteration in the Earth ‘s clime base their belief on several sets of informations ( eg, temperatures, nursery gas degrees and climate phenomena ) . Ground-level temperature measurings show the Earth has warmed between 0.3 grades and 0.6 grades Celsius in the last century Atmospheric C dioxide ( CO 2 ) , a primary nursery gas, has increased by about 30 per centum in the last century and a half Using these facts to imitate atmospheric conditions in computerized clime theoretical accounts, some scientists infer that the Earth ‘s current heating is due to the addition in atmospheric CO 2 caused chiefly by the usage of fossil fuels ( oil, coal and gas ) . Harmonizing to the theoretical accounts, absent a crisp and immediate decrease in the degree of CO 2 emanations, the Earth will warm a farther 0.8 grades to 3.5 grades Celsius over the following 100 old ages. Advocates of the theoretical accounts argue the Earth ‘s heating will do such catastrophes as lifting ocean degrees from runing polar ice caps, increased hurricane activity and terrible drouths. Global warming theory remainders on three basiss: clime theoretical accounts, scientific analyses of past and present clime informations and tendencies, and the averment that increases in nursery gases drive up planetary temperatures. This is James Hansen ‘s theory that we use to cite what we are about to larn about planetary heating.2.4 Discussion of the Dependent Variable1. First, In 1989, End of Nature warned about the oncoming of planetary warming Rereading it now seems more watchful to the background illustration of the text which we live big. But possibly he might undervaluing. Obstruction of the big and the economic benefits that survival depends on our failure to admit our relationship with nature changed radically faster large planetary heating. Changes threaten to rule our civilisation. Sea is swelling with heat and will go on to increase at least a century. Confirmed and expanded. What I heard last twelvemonth James Hansen parliamentary commission warned that clime a lteration is at manus. Following, Nipponese bike industry, energy aid plan the first paradigm pedal. Hybrid electric motorcycle in 1993 after several old ages of design item will be developed in assorted signifiers of electrical energy rhythm. Electric Bicycle cut down dependance on foreign oil and pollution of the economic potency of solar power. While, Decrease in heat conveyance in horizontal appropriate extratropics is surprising to happen decreased public presentation in the heat conveyance extratropical. Found merely in the appropriate response to climate balance estimation for the 2nd response times of ocean CO2 and non in the state of affairs of clime alteration temporarily All the replies are the consequence of the strong addition in low vapour tropospheric. For illustration, One of the biggest wrongdoers in contending planetary heating is a dodo of the metropolis so much nursery gas emanations over some metropolis guide to new engineerings, while some ideal modern reading of the yesteryear. What this metropolis has set ends for their ain rules of what they do will be reviewed in the class of this paper is the ideal of sustainable metropoliss. The aim of this research is to better define rules of healthy metropoliss and metropoliss in footings of lodging and urban environment at the centre of activity and lifestyle alterations. From the design of substructure design, edifice and conveyance industries have a batch to be done to do the metropolis a good tantrum with the sustainability. Addition, The latest scientific information confirm that planetary clime is altering quickly. Global temperatures increased by about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the last century and make be given to turn more quickly in the past decennary in the 2001 study IPCC, clime alteration scenarios predicted under different CO2. Under planetary heating, such as ecosystems may react otherwise in the hereafter, but hard to foretell alterations in more complex because future clime alterati on depends on the degree of exchange of land atmosphere ocean and atmosphere C flux. These state of affairss can be changed by the exchange of thoughts between ecosystems and clime under planetary heating in the hereafter. Consequently, Global clime alteration is altering ecology of infective substances and driving the disease in worlds and wildlife, the effects of rate of development of clime parts are vulnerable to climate alteration and whether this tendency. expected to go on to run the basic apprehension and reacting to climate alteration in other countries – parasite system in the Arctic and around the universe. Therefore, Analysis of economic system to the terminal of the involvement of society to make a profile of a shared vision of sustainability and supply visibleness for Development conference that the audit resources required to accomplish the vision and measure the suitableness of market mechanisms in the allotment of resources necessary to stop the demand. Howev er, There are many ways that others might be encouraged to go forth their autos at place and travel by bike to a local inducements for investing in banking, which allows others bikes around the country on two wheels without. Some of the motorcycle test motorcycle from the Bank is non success at all. But in recent old ages the system. Much better motorcycle and is rather successful and was impressed both with Infrastructure and how it works. In about every metropolis street corner with serried Top of bright ruddy motorcycle for general usage bikes to take one of these up at any motorcycle station and left. And other costs low is to allow by Rural people have been adapted to many friends around the level broad avenues and many now use particular prosaic and bike centre of Lyon has been changed by this enterprise and it is cleaner and longer.Meanwhile, Using bike safety and behaviour in Paris, Boston, and Amsterdam bikes and rider population apprehension of bike safety and behaviour. Y ou notice in the helmets and utilizing visible radiations at dark, planning, transit and security experts can larn about advancing cycling and making safe bicyclefriendly environment.. Last, Daily motion of people go to university in the auto combustion fuel is one of the largest impact of instruction is one of the most environmentally destructive behaviour, and so it is that most of our things. following add-on. To do air pollution, autos and trucks are doing pollution, so we should work together helps cut down air pollution, whether as a skateboard, bike, skates roller, monocycle, or places with constitutional heelwheels, wheeling. around the metropolis and the university is an option that works non merely you did non lend to pollution in the air you get in form good and can be reasonably cool walk / tally / skip / sidling besides means the good of the ain to assist protect the environment. 2. First, To see environmental impacts that may happen ( PEI ) of the chemical procedure to supply a method of chemical waste separation procedure is environmentally friendly design. These indices compare the features used in the design procedure stairss to cut down environmental impacts for inside informations about these types of measuring to be known or presented. Case survey illustrations will supply illustrations of the aims of the algorithms used within the waste separation of design and simulation. Following to, Greenhouse impacts of alternate municipal waste direction ironss are assessed. The considered option ironss consisted of landfilling, landfill gas recovery and flaring or energy production, biological intervention and incineration of wastes. The most favorable options to restrict the nursery impact due to blow direction are those that minimize the methane emanations to the ambiance. For illustration, Waste separation in Hat Yai in southern Thailand The development of e nvironmental and public cooperation in the production and take part in the sorting of waste has been proven to be the biggest factor. If successful waste separation at beginning, the metropolis had an thought to plan and develop better. Addition, This article summarized the importance of recycling waste plastics and waste plastics. Separation based on analysis of physical and chemical belongingss of plastics. Plastic waste, the possible and restrictions of procedure engineering, many treatments. Besides check the surface chemical science of floatation of plastics, it can offer. Concluded that plastics floatation is a technique that is rather flexible and can be proved. Process utile for dividing a mixture of different types of plastic. Consequently, Waste direction systems affect the environment and to cut down environmental impacts, including increased agricultural usage. Use of resources and non merely the consequence of alterations in therapy. But most are. The consequence of alt erations in environing systems. ( Energy and agribusiness ) ensuing from alterations in waste direction for substance flow analysis system. Different intervention of the waste analysis: thermic burn. Sub-fermentation and recovery. anaerobiotic effluent intervention. Therefore, Material recycling has been analysing the impact of planetary heating are certain to happen what extent Will be ranked between recycling and landfilling firing stuff made from identified resources that are frequently used. But ne'er the less energy intensive and less planetary warming impact than the pure beginning. Ranking between recycling and firing paper is sensitive to the quality of the paper, such as power beginnings to avoid combustion and energy factory. However, The building industry is the major solid waste generator in Hong Kong. In add-on, the positions of the edifice industry participants were besides obtained through a questionnaire study to give a better apprehension of their attitude on on-sit e waste screening. The consequences indicate that the edifice building participants are loath to transport out on-site waste sorting. Even when high a tipping fee is imposed, they have small incentive to execute on-site waste screening which is considered to be clip and labour demanding. While, Pay the national jurisprudence in Thailand in 2000, endorsed the rules of † recycling † before go forthing and clearly defined agitation as an option for the intervention of organic waste. It besides recommended the demand for a separate waste intervention and most events whirling out of storage to cut down the loss to the community oven service country. Ability to open and deconcentrate intervention program based on agitation of municipal country sufficient And keep the natural balance and prevent planetary heating. Meanwhile, Greenhouse gas ( GHG ) emanation decrease is an interesting manner to assist maintain H2O clean engineering and waste separation will assist cut down pollu tion by utilizing the approved United Nations Therefore, the decrease of nursery gas emanations. And credits can assist countervail dearly-won than incorporating aerophilic production environment clean and acceptable. Superior technologies replace current anaerobiotic lagunas in the United States. Last, Avoid the consequence of intervention of waste disposal in landfill gas to the debasement of micro-organisms. Seriously see the current environment and installations at bing and new Besides possible wellness jeopardies, these concerns include but are non limited, to divide waste affect air pollution, planetary heating. 3. Climate alteration is predicted to be most terrible parts and there has been much involvement in to what extent beings can get by with these alterations through phenotypic malleability or microevolutionary procedures. However The consequence of planetary warming depends on the complex interaction between the human host population and the causative infective agent. public wellness substructure, go forthing worlds ill prepared for unexpected epidemics. Global heating will surely impact the copiousness and distribution of disease vectors. So Recycling of waste stuffs has been analysed from a life rhythm position in a figure of surveies over the past 10-15 old ages. Publications comparing the planetary heating impact and entire energy usage of recycling versus incineration and landfilling were reviewed in order to happen out to what extent The ranking between recycling and incineration of paper is sensitive to for case paper quality, energy beginning avoided by incineration, and energ y beginning at the factory. Following Recent planetary warming threatens many species and has already caused population- and species-level extinctions. In peculiar, high hazards of extinction are expected for stray populations of species with low dispersion abilities the ultimate driver of a species response to climate alteration, have been most frequently neglected. Including the hurtful effects of fictile dust on the marine environment were reviewed A big figure of marine species is known to be harmed and/or killed by fictile dust, which could endanger their endurance, particularly since many are already endangered by other signifiers of anthropogenetic activities. Of research in Australian survey presents the findings of a life-cycle appraisal ( LCA ) that examined whether a re-use and recycle scheme for a plastic-based packaging that well reduces the measure of waste to landfill would besides cut down the overall environmental load. To relieve social concerns over the increased rate of resource ingestion and waste production, policy shapers have encouraged recycling and reuse schemes to cut down the demand for natural stuffs and diminish the measure of waste to landfill. And this survey reviews different attacks to the political and economic control of planetary public goods like planetary heating. It compares quantity-oriented control mechanisms like the Kyoto Protocol with price-type control mechanisms such as internationally harmonized C revenue enhancements. By so the rapid and widespread outgrowth of an anti-plastic shopping bag norm and associated regulative policies around the universe in recent old ages forces are believing of current apprehensions of norm kineticss and policy execution. Drumhead planetary heating will do alterations in the epidemiology of infective diseases. The ability of world to respond or accommodate is dependent upon the magnitude and velocity of the alteration. The result will besides depend on our ability to acknowledge epidemics early, to incorporate them efficaciously, to supply appropriate intervention, and to perpetrate resources to bar and research 4. ‘Global warming ‘ is a phrase that refers to the consequence on the clime of human ‘greenhouse gases ‘ of which the most of import is carbon dioxide. Such gases absorb infrared radiation emitted by the Earth ‘s surface and act as covers over the surface maintaining it warmer. If the clime warms in the hereafter, will at that place be an intensification of the H2O rhythm and, if so, the nature of that intensification? Intensification of the H2O rhythm may take to alterations in water-resource handiness, an addition in the frequence and strength of tropical storms, inundations, and drouths, and an elaboration of warming through the H2O vapour feedback. No affair how H2O vapour is the dominant nursery gas, the most of import gaseous beginning of infrared opacity in the ambiance. As the concentrations of other nursery gases, peculiarly C dioxide, addition because of human activity, it is centrally of import to foretell how the H2O vapour distribution will be affected. To the extent that H2O vapour concentrations addition in a warmer universe, the climatic effects of the other nursery gases will be amplified. So the same decision applies for PFC ( PFCs ) , though they are less normally used as refrigerants. Integrated appraisal of ozone depletion, planetary heating, and atmospheric life-time provides indispensable indicants in the absence of ideal refrigerants, viz. those free of these jobs every bit good as safety, stableness, compatibility, cost, and similar loads. Because of the heat-island effects, a rise in temperature can hold important impacts. Urban trees and high-albedo surfaces can countervail or change by reversal the heat-island consequence. Extenuation of urban heat islands can potentially cut down national energy usage in air conditioning by 20 % and salvage over $ 10B per twelvemonth in energy usage. So that the primary chances in changing zone setpoints in an optimum manner are associated with switching chilling tonss from daylight to nighttime to ( 1 ) cut down peak electrical demands, ( 2 ) take advantage of low nighttime electrical rates, ( 3 ) countervail mechanical chilling with â€Å" free † chilling at dark, and ( 4 ) enhance equipment operation at more favourable part-load conditions. However, the cost nest eggs depend strongly on several factors including 1 ) public-service corporation rate construction, 2 ) part-load features of the chilling works and air managing system, 3 ) weather,4 ) the tenancy agenda, and 5 ) edifice thermic electrical capacity. And cut-off of the anthropogenetic heat from air-conditioning installations could bring forth a.cooling energy salvaging up to 6 % with the out-of-door air-temperature lessening by more than 1oC.So the cost effectivity of different illuming engineering options was besides calculated. Electricity engineering option is cost effectual in two out of the five room classs that were examined. The cost effectual installing of energy effici ent illuming engineerings at Melbourne University are identified: ( a ) low illuming system operating hours, ( B ) the low cost of electricity and ( degree Celsius ) the high cost of energy efficient illuming components. In add-on Urban shadiness trees offer important benefits in cut downing constructing air-conditioning demand and up urban air quality by cut downing smog. The nest eggs associated with these benefits vary by clime part and can be up to $ 200 per tree. More of all time the research provide grounds that real-time resource feedback systems, when combined with instruction and an inducement, involvement, motivate and authorise college pupils to cut down resource usage in residence halls.2.5 Relationship of the Independent Variable ( s ) to the Dependent Variable1. Most pupils used bike used autos than.In Case survey about the most pupils used bike, autos than bikes. Global warming due to pupils in most universities are likely to impact a hereafter trip by auto and the bik e is one of the most environmentally destructive behaviour and that of class it is largely In add-on, our combined air pollution in the behaviour that causes planetary heating is an of import issue to cut down the usage of auto sharing. Motorcycle to cut down air pollution. We should work together helps cut down air pollution, whether as a motorcycle skateboard, skates roller, monocycle, or places with constitutional heelwheels, wheeling around the metropolis and the university is non merely the options that work. But you do non lend to aerate pollution that you are in good form and reasonably cool to walk / tally / skip / sashaying means to break their ain to assist protect the environment.2. Students do non assist to divide waste before go forthing to each type of rubbish. In the instance survey of causes and effects that cause planetary warming portion of the causes and impacts from landfills awkward Garbage disposal methods are non. Or waste incorporating toxic substances into the river The consequence will do as many jobs such as Tibial the H2O soluble portion of F mutual opposition impulse as a consequence of that we do non cognize how to divide the waste right. Therefore, all pupils or people should be educated. Learn how to divide refuse decently to avoid impact of planetary heating and incineration the best option to restrict the impact of nursery because waste direction is the people who cut down their emanations of methane in the ambiance. Therefore, waste direction systems affect the environment and to cut down environmental impacts, including addition of agricultural waste direction systems affect the environment and many techniques. To cut down environmental impacts and keep biological resources and bettering environmental sustainability and the benefits originating from alterations in waste direction for environmental benefits compared to the combustion does non be more utile, particularly the. environmental impact. To separate waste will cut down the happening of planetary warming excessively This will enable the society and the state is with a assortment of resources to university pupils to divide waste before go forthing and will be easy to divide or convey back a new unit of ammunition will profit university pollution besides reviewing.3. Students and stores, most normally used plastic froth is most.Case survey jobs that most normally used plastic froth is most. The consequence of planetary warming depends on the complex interaction between the human host population and the causative infective agent. public wellness substructure, go forthing worlds ill prepared for unexpected epidemics. Global heating will surely impact the copiousness and distribution of disease vectors. In the country around Rajamangala University of Technology in stores, eating houses must utilize plastic or foam every twenty-four hours. This will non avoid the impracticable Therefore, the separation between Phe fictile waste from other waste is the b est option. In order to be recycled or decently destroyed to salvage resources for future If you cut down the usage of plastic bags will assist cut down planetary heating because it does non happen once more in the combustion or recycling. Surveies in Australia offer the Life Cycle Assessment ( LCA ) to guarantee that the reuse and recycling schemes for the plastic packaging used to much lower sum of waste landfill will cut down the environment as a whole. To relieve the concerns of society over the rate of addition. Resource usage and production of waste policy Manufacturers support the recycling and reuse schemes. To cut down demand for natural stuffs to cut down landfill waste. If the university is re-use and recycling can be decently destroyed to salvage resources for the hereafter and besides assist to cut down planetary heating is another manner.4. Students do non assist salvage energy. In instance survey about Students do non care about salvaging energy. In university, all the edifice utilizing a air conditioner every twenty-four hours. The C dioxide released from air conditioner another account is that cause planetary heating. If pupils do non wish to assist salvage energy, such as opening the appropriate temperature in air conditioning or running H2O expensively. It will do more planetary heating. From the research about motive and authorise college pupils to cut down resource usage in residence halls in USA residence halls that received high declaration feedback were more effectual at preservation, cut downing their electricity ingestion by 55 per centum compared to 31 per centum for low declaration residence halls. If the University adopted induceme nt to salvage resources, cut down resource usage and H2O and electricity on campus. Students will concentrate on salvaging more resources and besides cut down planetary heating every bit good.2.6 Previous SurveiesBy the survey and to supervise alterations on the work of the solar panel. By put ining the solar panel on a panel of 180 324 square metres from the start in 2532 until the present. Found that the solar panel. Have limited utile life that is merely seven old ages to better. The Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency ( DEDE ) to one confer withing disposal and installing of an appropriate circuit more efficient.
